In the 1990s Ivoclar Vivadent introduced IPS Empress, which soon became a new esthetic benchmark. The state-of-the-art IPS e.max system was launched more than a decade ago. It combines the benefits of lithium disilicate and fluorapatite glass-ceramics with those of zirconium oxide ceramics. IPS e.max is available for the press technique and CAD/CAM applications. The all-ceramic materials cover a broad range of processing options to meet all types of patient requirements.
