IPS e.max Zirconium Oxide

magnifying glass

The state-of-the-art, robust zirconium oxide ceramic IPS e.max ZirCAD is the material of choice when high mechanical strength, minimal restoration thicknesses, impressive esthetics and good biocompatibility are required. IPS e.max ZirCAD combines all these qualities and sets new standards.

Thin restoration walls possible
Due to the material’s high strength of 850 and 1,200 MPa1 as well as its high fracture toughness the wall thickness of restorations can be significantly reduced. As a result, tooth-conserving preparation and conventional cementation are possible. You will benefit from a perfect balance between thin restoration walls and optimum translucency. IPS e.max ZirCAD offers you maximum flexibility in the anterior and posterior region. The restorations can be glazed, stained or veneered: Your dental laboratory will finish the IPS e.max ZirCAD restorations according to the specific requirements of the individual patient.

IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime: High-end esthetics and very high strength
IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime is redefining all-ceramics. The revolutionary material ensures exceptional quality and esthetics. This is made possible by the Gradient Technology – a new, innovative manufacturing technique used in the production of the material. It is the key to outstanding quality.

In this step, the high-strength zirconium oxide raw material 3Y-TZP and the highly translucent zirconium oxide raw material 5Y-TZP are combined in a special way. The result: an outstanding accuracy of fit and high-end esthetics due to a continuous and seamless progression of shade and translucency and optimized translucent properties. IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime offers a maximum of flexibility in manufacturing ceramic restorations. As a result of its high strength of 1200 MPa2 and its impressive esthetic appearance, it is suitable for the fabrication of monolithic and veneered crowns as well as multiple unit bridges.
